Junior Summer – Homestay

We are Located in the heart of the capital city of Wales. Cardiff is often described as “perfect student city” because it’s lively, welcoming and a safe study destination.

Our engaging and academically challenging Junior Summer English Programme will:

Programme summary:

  • Dates: Sunday 14th June – Saturday 29nd August 2020
  • Duration: 11 weeks
  • Maximum Stay: 4 weeks
  • Minimum Stay: 2 weeks
  • Age: 12-17 years old
  • Levels: Elementary (A1) – Advanced (C1)
  • Class Size: 10-15

What does it include?

  • 15 hours of General English lesson per week, from Monday to Friday
  • 15 hours of social activities per week, from Monday to Friday
  • One full day (Saturday) excursion per week

  • Shared homestay accommodation with full-board (3 meals per day)
  • Airport transfers with Sunday arrival and Saturday departures (at a separate cost)

Course outcomes

This four-week programme takes a new theme each week; Geography and the Environment, Design and Technology, Arts and Culture, and Business Communication. These core subjects, taken from the National Curriculum of the UK, will be taught through a combination of creative project work and the key grammatical and relevant vocabulary input essential to your child's academic success.


Staying with a British homestay family is the best way to practice what has been learned during the day and to remember typical English expression.

  • No other student of the same mother tongue unless required
  • Maximum 4 students per homestay

Students on this programme are accommodated with homestay providers in the city and will be expected to use local buses/trains to travel between the school and their accommodation. During this time, they will not be supervised by either our staff or the homestay providers.

In the evenings and on Sundays when no activities are programmed, students usually stay with their homestay providers unless they have written permission from their parents or guardians stating that they are allowed to go out unaccompanied.

Sample Programme:

On Saturday (full day excursion) students will be able to visit local sights and cities such as Caerphilly, Tenby, Bath, Oxford, Cambridge and London. Students must take part in the full social programme and are not permitted to go off on their own during activities.

Welfare and Student Care

  • The welfare of each child is our first priority.
  • We take care for young leaner very seriously and we take responsibilities for them.
  • All our teachers and staff receive training to work with under 18s.
  • All under 18 students must book an airport transfer with us..
  • Our under 18s students receive our 24 hours’ emergency number so they can contact us any time if needed.
  • We have enhanced attendance reporting procedures for under 18s.
